50K – BIKE, RUN or RELAY

The 50K distance can be done as a solo trail run, solo mountain bike, or mountain bike relay, run relay or combination run/bike relay.

This course will combine riders and runners together, on an incredibly scenic route that varies from dense forest to open rock bluffs. It is unique, fun and friendly. A truly unforgettable trail running/riding experience.

The Snowden Trail Challenge takes place in the Snowden Demonstration Forest, a vast network of scenic double track and single track trails, just outside of Campbell River.

The 50K is an intermediate level two loop bike/run course comprising some road and mainly single track trails. Including Grilled Cheese, Mudhoney Pass, Lost Lake, Riley Lake, Lookout Loop, 10 & 11 Licks, Escargot and Frog Legs.

50K Solo Run

Your run will take you over our 25K loop course twice.  The gravel start from the nursery is only about 2.5K from the trailhead and from there you are ushered into the gentle and smooth trail and then on to some of the rocky bluff sections of the Snowden forest.   This single track is considered to be a very fun and fast trail, set in a very beautiful, quiet and remote area.  A great event for those looking to lose themselves in nature, without the worry of ever actually getting lost!

Aid Stations

There are 5 aid stations for the 50K solo runner. Aid stations will be stocked with usual fare including chips, fruit, gummies, water, coke, and electrolyte.  These food items are probable, however, not guaranteed.  Runners should be self-supporting and carry necessary hydration and fuel for themselves.  Aid stations are cup-less in an effort to keep waste at a minimum. You must carry your own reusable cup if you would like to consume beverages at the aid station.  Collapsible cups are inexpensive, and available at several outdoor retailers, please come prepared.  Runners can leave drop bags at the Start Line Aid Station only.
